KeolisAmey Docklands has won a prestigious award after another year of record-breaking performance.

The system was presented with the blue riband trophy for Passenger Operator of the Year at the National Rail Awards while Manchester Metrolink were highly commended in the Infrastructure Achievement category for the extension to Trafford Park.

Tyne & Wear Metro

A vibrant yellow colour scheme for Metro’s £362m new train fleet has been revealed as operator Nexus launches a major public consultation on new interiors.

The modern and eye-catching yellow exterior, with black and pale grey along the train sides, followed input from passengers and employees and is a nod to the Metro’s iconic yellow PTE livery introduced when the system first opened 40 years ago.

The new Metro fleet, which is being built by the Swiss train manufacturer, Stadler, is set to enter service in 2023, transforming the experience for passengers and boosting reliability.

Heritage

Crich Tramway Village has thanked supporters for raising over £10,000 by sponsoring a sleeper to fund track replacement work.

During our closed season between November 2019 and March 2020 staff and volunteers, supported by external contractors, undertook replacement of 360 metres of trackwork along the section of double track known as the Bandstand Curves.
